LIFE

The Environment and Climate Action Program (LIFE) is the financial instrument of the European Union dedicated to the environment for the period 2014-2020. Its general objective is to catalyze changes in the development and implementation of policies through the contribution of solutions and best practices to achieve environmental and climate goals, as well as through the promotion of innovative technologies in the field of environment and climate change . It must also support the application of the General Environment Program of the Union until 2020 "Living well, respecting the limits of our planet".

The LIFE Program is managed by the European Commission, being the National Authority in the Spanish State the Ministry for the Ecological Transition, through the Undersecretariat. LIFE is a program managed by the Executive Agency for Small and Medium Enterprises (EASME).

The LIFE Program is divided into two subprograms with three priority areas each.

The LIFE EcoTimberCell Project (LIFE 17 CCM / ES / 000074) is included in the Climate Action Suprogram: Mitigation of Climate Change.

The specific objectives of the priority area Mitigation of Climate Change of the Subprogramme Action for the Climate are:

Policy and Solutions

Contribute to the implementation and development of the Union's policy and legislation on the mitigation of climate change, including its integration in all policy areas, in particular through the development, experimentation and demonstration of policy approaches or management, best practices and solutions to mitigate climate change

Knowledge and Applicability

Improve the knowledge base for the development, assessment, monitoring, evaluation and implementation of effective climate change mitigation actions and measures, and increase the capacity to apply this knowledge in practice.

Integrated Approach

Facilitate the development and application of integrated approaches, for example in strategies and action plans on climate change mitigation at the local, regional or national level.

Replicability and Transfer

Contribute to the development and demonstration of innovative climate change mitigation technologies, systems, methods and instruments that are suitable for reproduction, transfer, or incorporation into all sectors.
